A Newport Christmas

People don't watch these movies for realism, so don't expect a lot. As others have commented there was a lot of green screen usage, which was pretty distracting. Basically anything set at night was done that way, and it was annoying.

Ella the time traveler adapted way too quickly to modern clothing and habits. Aside from being overly extroverted, and a few technology issues (a very few) she seemed pretty modern. It was almost like they didn't want to address the issue except where it provided comic relief.

There was a decent twist in the middle, which really only served to explain how the predictable ending was workable.

Anyway, that being said, it was watchable. Sure it was formulaic and sappy, but in a way it is supposed to be.

I love Wes Brown and always look forward to any movie he is in but had a difficult time with this one! The lead actress takes away from the movie and there is NO chemistry between her and "Nick"! I am sure I will watch the movie again just to watch Wes Brown and my opinion may change but I doubt it will!

Yes, this is another time traveling Christmas movie, and it's pretty good mostly because there's enough Christmas theme, good cinematography and expensive looking sets, and nice performances by the leads to keep you interested. Ginna Claire Mason as Ella, the time traveller from 1905, is good once she gets over her hysteria, and Wes Brown as her savior is wonderful throughout. This is very different from the role he has in the "Haul Out" movies and you can see what a fine actor he is. The rest of the cast is quite good, particularly Talia Robinson and Evan Alexander Smith as the other couple who finds romance in this story.

However, this is not as good as the ultimate time traveling Christmas movie, "A Biltmore Christmas" which was perfection. And "A Timeless Christmas" had more charm, but this is still worth the watch because the plot is rather interesting and the cast works well together. If you want some holiday romance in the "Titanic" vein, this is the one for you.

I've watched a fair share of Hallmark movies, but didn't finish this one. Let this be a shout-out to Hallmark, if you start green screening whole decors, I stop watching. The whole boat stuff is just pathetic, even daily shows my kids watch are more sophisticated. Maybe do one movie less a year and spread the funds across the rest of the portfolio.

Ginna's character is awesome in this movie. She sells her character 100%. A strong willed turn of the century women who wants to do more for those less fortunate. She dreams big and learns not only that she will succeed but she also learns that she can fall in love and be loved.

Wes plays a that feels like love has passed him by. And that he may never find love. But in a short time he finds Ginnas character amazing. And soon admits she's amazing. It's not long these two obviously fall for each other.

Talia Robinson in her supporting role is wonderful. She really plays her character in a way so that she comes to life.

I don't want to get into the story as not knowing lets the script unwind naturally. It's well written for a Hallmark movie and one of the better scripts of the 2025 Christmas movie line up. 1 hour:20 minutes of fun.
